It’s a Boy, Welcome to George !

It’s a BOY! This is GEORGE, our ROYAL baby Hippo.

Named by Helen Capps of the UK, this little darling was born mid December and his Mother is Tacha and father Kuchek. So George is another little male to join the other calves in the boys’ band,  Banky and Darrow.

We hope like his Royal namesake he will grow strong and bold and Kingly and that one day he will rule over his own family.

For now he is just a baby so enjoy his photos and if you fancy adopting a baby hippo George is our youngest calf at this moment.

Thank you everyone for the comments it means so much to me if people take the time to make a comment however small. George is going to be a big baby as already he is larger than most of the other calves have been at the same age. Love to you all Karen and the hippos xxx

We are so relieved to hear that the rains have returned! Hang in there, Karen.

And yes Beautiful George is something else. Perhaps someday he will follow in Bob’s and Robin’s big hoof prints.

Thank you everyone who is commenting. Yes, George is amazing as are all the hippos and for that matter all animals. Yes I am slightly biased towards hippos and horses and pussycats and Squiggle mongoose but all animals have beauty. I am so pleased to read your comments it means a lot to me. George likes to show off and is I think going to be a big male as for a tiny one he is already quite a big baby. Love Karen and all the hippos xx Emily I am so happy being a foster parent has made you so happy. xxx

Georgous George! wonderful photos! Have just finished Karen’s book ‘A Hippo Love Story’ (will put a full review on amazon) can highly recommend reading to give an insight into the fascinating life of all the hippo families living on the Turgwe River and the perils and life-lifting experiences of both the hippos and humans living there.
