So beautiful and it’s all down to your tireless work. Thank-you to you and everyone at the Trust.
thank you Rowena for naming this new baby and for your wonderful support over the years. Love and hippo hugs Karen and Kai and all the hippos xx
Such a joy to see Tacha and her precious baby, Kai. Thank you for sharing these delightful moments, Andrea
Baby Kai, and mum Tacha, look great, despite being in the hungry winter months. It must be such a joy to see this healthy, rotund little thing after losing a few in the past year, Karen.
What amazes me how well they trust you. I don’t know how close you were, but within earshot, I guess, but not many people can get as close to a hippo with young as you do. Your bond with them is amazing.
Keep up the good work,
Lona
Thank you Lona it is an honour that I never take lightly and yes I was about 40 feet from them. All of the Turgwe Hippos know me by voice and accept me as part of their pod so to speak, it is simply wonderful. Yes when they die especially at the hands of man it kills me and takes a lot to get my spirit up again but then as you say new birth new life and I smile again.
