Oliver or Ollie as we do not yet know if he is a male or a female hippo was born January 1st 2024.
His mother is called Relief and to date she has only had male calves, Darrow, Steve, Max and now Oliver. It is more than likely that the new calf is a male but we will have to wait and see.
He has been named by a very special little boy called Oliver. Oliver is 8 years of age and is in the UK he lives his life for hippos and knows so much more about them than anyone I have ever met. So now he has named Oliver hippo and if Oliver turns out to be a female then her name will be Ollie.
